LADYFEST CINCINNATI is a multi-faceted 3-day festival promoting women involved in arts and activism. Ladyfest Cincinnati 2015, being held October 15 through October 17, will focus on musical and multi-media performances, visual art, educational workshops, community building and empowerment. The festival seeks to encourage, support, inspire, and highlight the music+art made by women* of Cincinnati’s independent scene as well as showcase influential and inspiring musicians and artists, both emerging and established.

Abby Friend

Abby Friend was born in 1993 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She found an early passion in art as a young child and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015. Abby’s work is inspired by the way that the body relates to the spaces it inhabits, which creates a balance between sculptural forms and a performative practice. Interrogating the relationships between her visual art practice, writing, and community organizing is key to maintaining balance in her work.

Abby currently works as a preparator at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati and is the Chair of the Board of Directors at the Village Green Foundation in Northside.
